SENIOR WOMEN

Senior Women

Our Senior Women's squad, encompassing freshers and ex-Novices up to U23 World Champions, follows a base training programme of 10 sessions a week, with individual adjustments made and extra sessions added where necessary.  Water training takes place at Strathclyde Country Park, with land training in the university's Pleasance Sport Complex & Gym, where we have our Dame Katherine Grainger rowing gym.

We race all season at Scottish and UK events, with a particular focus on BUCS events, Scottish & British Championships, and both Henley regattas. Recent years have seen the EUBC Senior Women take home the Victor Ludorum at the 2019 BUCS regatta, and win the Championship 4- at the 2019 Henley Women's Regatta as well as qualifying our First VIII for the Remenham challenge cup at HRR for only the second time ever. The squad regularly performs well at BUCS events, with silver in the Champ 8+, gold in Champ 4-, bronze in Champ 4+, and silver in Champ 4x at the most recent BUCS Head, and at the 2021 BUCS Regatta our senior women brought home gold in the Champ 4x and silver in the Champ 2x with a significantly smaller squad than our rival institutions.
