Edinburgh University Boat Club are looking to obtain sponsors for the racing season of 2018, Regattas during this time frame (roughly the end of April till August) include BUCS, Scottish Championships, the Scottish Boat Race, Womens Henley and Henley Royal along with possible international competition appearances (trials depending). The below paragraphs outline a few examples, from last summer’s season, of events that would prove beneficial to your company if sponsoring EUBC.

Last year over 2,000 students from 73 universities around the country competed at BUCS, presenting opportunity for sponsorship to be paraded. At BUCS, the British university championships, the beginner women took 1st and 5th in the Eights! Coming 4th highest this year in the medal table means Edinburgh is certainly a club watched closely.

Henley was an immense success, the banks as busy as ever and watched by tens of thousands more both on YouTube and BT Sports. Our lightweight quad and two senior coxed fours both ended up qualifying. Our top senior 4+ then went on to win The Prince Albert Challenge Cup- making us the first ever Scottish university to win at the 177-year-old competition. Sponsorship opportunities offered to companies last year included stickers on both boats and the blades. Many more ideas for advertising have been recognised.

The Scottish Boat Race was much larger than in previous years and that seems to be enjoying increasing backing from the university. Large crowds were drawn to the riverside where there was a bar, a big TV screen for the races, loads of food, and plenty of other entertainment, alongside the rowing on the water. There was even a small feature on BBC Scotland tonight interviewing prior to the event and articles in newspapers following.
